187th ECB

187th ECB

This is a photo I found on the internet I thought would be interesting for you to take a look.

According to my uncle, my grandfather and other American soldiers were heading to the front when a surrendered German army was heading In the opposite direction to a POW camp. My grandfather went up to the general who was in the back of a "deuce and a half" and ripped the binoculars from around his neck. He initially started to resist then put his hands up in resignation!

Also included a framed photo of him I have on a machine gun with his dog tags draped over the frame.

I just received photos of the binoculars from my uncle and want to try to figure out info on the inscriptions on the binoculars.

The Two gentlemen in that image are Charles Snell and my grandfather Albert Woods.

Currently, I could use some help locating new information on the 187th ECB. If you have any information or photos, please contribute to the story of these men.
